Endocrine-Disrupting Hypothesis

The endocrine-disrupting hypothesis, which states that mimicry of endocrine hormones through chemicals in our environment, has received much debate, between public and scientific communities over its validity, because its implications have profound and serious consequences, of which if true, will not only contaminate our earth and bodies, but also future generations through changes in our genetic makeup. In order to fully understand and appreciate this hypothesis and its implications that may seal our fate, it is essential that we begin by revealing when these xenobiotic chemicals with endocrine-disrupting potential first appeared, what they are and why they were created and used, and more importantly, what they have done to our environment and ourselves.
