1. Cross-reactivity of antibody to other antigens

2. Nonspecific binding of the antibody

3. Endogenous peroxidase or interaction with the avidin-biotin complex

4. Entrapment of normal tissues by tumor cells

5. Protein release from normal cells invaded by tumor cells
