Pulse-Chase Experiment
1. Pulse cells with 35S-methionine
2. Transfer cells to methionine free medium
3. Add labelled amino acids for a short time (10 minutes). This step labels all newly synthesized proteins for a short period of time.
1. Transfer cells to medium with unlabelled methionine for different lengths of time. These subsequent proteins are unlabelled, the labelled group moves through the cell and can therefore be followed in a standard immunoprecipitation experiment.
