T Cell Hybridoma Protocol

T Cell Hybridoma Protocol

T cell hybridomas were used by Kappler and Marrack to study T cell recognition. These T cell hydridomas are immortalized T cells.

Immunize mouse --> isolate spleen --> fuse with thymoma cells (BW5147 cell line)

T cell hybridomas have the enormous advantage to being able to divide continuously but do not secrete IL-2 unless stimulated by recognition of specific antigen and MHC.
